Expelling the Holy Spirit

I am unsure if I am posting this in the correct section of the forums...
So, here's the thing: I no longer identify myself as Christian. Since I am done with this religion, I want to end whatever binds me to it through any way. According to Christianity, each individual who undergoes the Christianic sacrament of baptism is annointed with the Holy Spirit. Since I no longer wish to follow the religion, I wish to be rid of it (sorry if I gave the shudders to any Christian reader), since I find the fact that I might be carrying a spirit of unknown/non-trustworthy origin (for me at least) inside my body greatly disturbing. So, I wish to be rid of it.
But I more or less believe that this won't be as easy as shooing it off.
So...any suggestions on how to expel it?

Depends on how deeply entrenched into Christian patterns you were.

Someone can completely do this by announcing that they wish to be rid of the patterns of Christianity, through whatever kind of banishing. Mere words, with intent, and focus.

Whereas others would require full-on rites of blasphemy, living in contradiction to Christian doctrines for a time, an exorcism, a Black Mass, or even entirely altering their spiritual body, though I can think of very few cases where the last one would apply.

Notice how some can just convert to a different religion, worship different gods, etc. with no trouble at all, whereas others still feel lingering guilt, or get spooked and end up back in church the moment they glimpse any semblance of true power.


So, before deciding how to get rid of any Christian energies, you're going to have to determine how much you've got to begin with.

My understanding is that the Holy Spirit is in everyone following the crucifixion rather than requiring a baptism, though I am sure baptism does not hurt, but if I recall correctly God will eventually wash his hands of those who continue to turn their back on him if they truly what nothing to do with him. Based on your profile I'm not certain you believe enough in the existence of God to warrant concern over needing to be rid of the Holy Spirit. You have nothing to fear from what does not exist. Personally, I'm a Christian but your path is your own so good luck in whatever path you choose. I don't see any need for any elaborate rituals rather just do what you want to do with no thought to it. It's easy to ignore and harder to listen to at times based on your desires. The power it has is essentially the faith you put in it and your faith overall in my opinion so if you simply ignore its existence you'll get your desired result. The Holy Spirit isn't possession and you won't find yourself giving out bibles on the street corner with no memory how you got there. You're free to choose your own path in this life and are not controlled by the Holy Spirit.

from what i feel if you do not nurture this spirit it cannot linger, you've mentally shut yourself off from it. it hasn't so much died, but returned to the original source [Christian god in this case] i suppose you could try a charging/grounding and/or cleansing.

what you could do of you want a ceremony, you could try a dedication if you have a path, cleansing your home, finding your witches name, setting up a permanent altar, preforming regular rituals. i try to live a 'witchy life' every day, so i leave daily offerings, meditate, i'm mindful with what i eat [practice kitchen witchcraft] combine cleaning with cleansings, have various pagan items around my house [shelf of pagan books, Llewellyn 2017 calendar in the kitchen, permanent altar in the living-room] say a blessing before a meal. i even consider some of my online activities like logging into SoM and watching pagan youtube videos every day part of my routine.

i heard once that even though you converted the church keeps your name on file since you were baptized so any censuses when you claim they have a billion followers, they're counting the baptized, not those who converted years later. i know a couple people who have taken their name off the list if you wanted to go that far. you contact your local minister/priest/reverend and tell them you have converted and wish to have your name removed from the baptism list. they usually set up a meeting with you and the bishop, they try to win you back, but you just have to explain and state why and request your name removed. [that's really the hard part] i think you'll then get a letter confirming your name has been removed and if you ever wish to return don't hesitate. [it's been a few years, a couple of my friends did this like 7 years ago] if you want to go that far, you could look into it, no harm, it doesn't mean you're a practicing christian, it just means your name is on a list of baptized individuals. if you really don't feel comfortable being on their official record books, you can always ask to be removed.
