Is Cernunnos Celtic

Who was Cernunnos? And where did he live.

Please, do some of your own research, this is now several forum posts in asking questions about Cerunnos that you can find the answers for on Google or by purchasing a good book on the deity or pantheon.

When working with a deity it is not just about items and knowledge, it's about how you got that knowledge and all anyone posting here will do is undertake a Google search to give you an answer that would have been easy for you to find yourself. It is about how dedicated you are to working with a deity,that is very important, so please do some of your own research, even if it's just Google.

Cernunnos appears to have been a Deity worshipped in ancient Gaul (modern France) by one of the Gallic tribes, who were a Celtic people.

All that we know about him is that his name was found on a single statue of a horned figure found on an archeological dig in France. From the statue it is assumed that Cernunnos was a God, perhaps related to hunting and animals. But that's all we know about him. The Celts had no written language and left no records regarding Cernunnos. Therefore we have absolutely no idea as to how he was worshipped, what herbs (if any) were associated with him, what offerings he liked/disliked, or much of anything else. Any sites saying do this or do that are not based on historical evidence but rather on unverified personal gnosis (UPG). In other words based on what someone thinks he might have liked.

I find it a bit disturbing that you are saying that you are devoted to Cernunnos but seem to know absolutely nothing about him. That's never a good idea. Start by researching the Deity you feel drawn to. And researching means reading and studying, meditating and thinking, not just posting thread after thread asking others to do your work for you. If you are going to work with Cernunnos it needs to be on the basis of how you see and feel him, not on what others tell you.
