Now that I think about it, Twilight would be more expected to effect the learning of Divination than the occult.

After all, the vampires in the movie were a much higher force than humans, they were immortal and some of them actually did have divine or supernatural abilities that got stronger with age. :P

Statistics dont matter...i was arguing the definition. And its all over the place online...i got it from free online dictionary. I was simply here to ask a question and try to bring people to the reality. Im not here to argue.

I'll throw in my two cents:

I think Twilight effects the interaction with mythological/otherworldly/whatever beings aspect of the occult. Over all, I think it has little influence on the occult as a whole. Kids are out there writing fan-fics or pretending to be vampires... I don't recall any magick in the story, at least not spell casting and such. Harry Potter had a bigger negative impact. I love the stories, but I also knew the difference between Harry Potter and actual magick. The majority of the world is not raised to understand magick; instead it is passed off as pure fantasy. Kids lucky enough to be raised pagan or exposed to the culture probably knew it was nonsense. I apologize XD I digress...


I don't think Twilight or other such movies are "ruining" the Occult world. It perhaps deters people with no exposure to the Occult from ever looking into it, passing it off as wacko nonsense, but I don't think it will ever grow into a worldwide shift from the Occult. Those who are seriously interested in it will graduate beyond Twilight, Harry Potter, etc and get into the real stuff. Those who don't, I don't consider part of the occult community, so they can't really contribute to ruining it.

So snow..i think you should remove your last post. One of the rules of the site is that there is to be no role playing in the forums...now...technically you werent pretending to be anyone but you did put something in ** and write in a roleplaying way...which is aganst the rules.

Roleplaying is "allowed" in the forums, though members who do so are usually attacked. She wasn't roleplaying; joking and such in that manner is fine. You don't have to play mod.
