Ways to talk to spirits?

and yes you can have contact with a spirit while you sleep its more of a guiden angle or a loved one that died its often they spoke of a message to you through your dreams

My place is spirit friendly, so they drop by often. Have even had my name called. Lastest one called my name to wake me, as I was so dehydrated from a hot camping trip, I was in danger of possible trip to the er. I barely was with it enough to look online to find solution, as just drinking water hadn't helped. I'm thankful to whoever that spirit was that woke me. It'll get crowded in here in a few weeks, as this time of year is when a lot of them show up. I live in a town with lots of history, and this time of year things happened (gun fights and hangings, etc.).
Just thought I'd spread my experience with spirits.

If you learn astral projection you might be able to contract him while you sleep.

I don't want to use an Oujia board; I heard a lot of bad things about them and I fear if I use one that something other than him might try to make contact with me.

I don't know how to do projection: any tips of how to do that?

You can learn to astral project via meditation or lucid dreaming. There are probably other methods too, but those are what i know of. Either way your goal is to achieve a point between being asleep and being awake (leaning more toward the sleep side). So your kind conscious, but still in that sleep paralysis stage. I've only done it after sleeping for too long. anyway you will then want to raise you're vibrations so that you can consciously leave your body. This may cause you to hear some kind of sound (for me it was a very loud sound). Weather it is a whirring or grinding or humming, don't be afraid of this sound.

I tried to do that; it was a very weird experience. I did it with a blindfold on and I was able to see through the blindfold. I guess I need to practice it.

If you are able to contact him, why not just ask of him to lead and guide you to find ways to contact him? When you can feel his presence just ask of him out loud.

You will probably get inspirations or has a gut feeling to look in a certain direction.

Please don't use an ouji board unless you know how to test a spirit also how to remove a spirit by force

I guess the hard part is, you don't know his name, yet standard rituals require a cleansing or banishing of area before getting started. Last thing you want is banishing the spirit you want to make contact with.

Perhaps contacting a reputable medium would be easier, ask for the spirits name and methods to contact that spirit.

while asleep. Try dream work or even astral projection. When awake you can try meditation, divination (scrying, ouiji, card reading might even help), you can also try what I call paper channeling (which I'm sure has a actual name but I never researched into it) where you ask the spirit to talk to you on paper, using your hand to write their answers.

Contacting him when I'm awake is no problem at all. I can do it with very little to no effort. And I know his full name. I just figured that the name wasn't necessary for the post

I want to be able to do it at night while asleep. That way we could spend more time together.
