I also found the list amusing, but only number 8 is true. I am a witch and we do not have this "halloween"" (All hallows eve). It is Samhain, when the rest of the harvest was gathered in and stored for the winter months. It is the end of the agricultural year, so November 1st is New Year's Day. It most certainly has nothing to do with devil worship. We do not even have a word for devil or satan.
These were (and are) all stories to convert people to Christianity (Catholic Church originally). As for witches getting "converts"; quite the opposite. No witch would ever try to convert anybody; people come to us, we do not go to them!

People fear what they do not understand. And they try to get other people fearful of it too so that when enough people have fear, its easier to point the "thats bad" finger.
I would like to go to that person and give them a piece of my mind. None of this is true and although I don't care much because I know we are better than them, I still don't want people thinking this is how we are.

There are many Christians also who work hard helping others. There are fanatics in most religions.
But practically all Christians are taught that witchcraft is evil. It is only recently, in the UK at least, that witchcraft has been recognised as a religion. And even that name has needed to be "hidden", and so it is named "Paganism".
In the UK we have The Pagan Federation, with members all over the world.
In summer this year (Lammas), we arranged an "inter-denominational" walk in a Leeds park. It was attended by the Lord Mayor, one Christian Pastor, two Jewish Rabbis, quite a few Muslims, and a great many Pagans (witches!). We visited old shrines, a mosque, a synagogue, and a Christian (Methodist) church. There were many exchanges of views, and really it all went very well.
Catholic priests were invited. They didn't turn up! I wasn't surprised!

Further. When I wrote "we arranged" I meant,of course, The Pagan Federation.
If you have a look at the photographs on my profile most of the pictures are of the Pagan Federation conference held at Mabon this year,2010. This was just for the north east of England; the attendance was over two thousand!
