I am sorry. I don't mean to be offensive with this post, though it invariably will be, but this is all complete cr*p.
First of all,Noveau, you can indeed control the elements. No I don't mean you can create fireballs and throw them at people, or make giant tidal waves with the flick of your wrist. You can do certain things though. for example a beginning exercise for pyrokinesis is moving a flame, extinguishing it, and relighting it from the ember (on a candle). For water a beginning exercise is making ripples to learn to influence the water. I personally have controlled the wind, granted it was not a wind as much as breeze, but still.
Also, you do not have to do a ceremony to make the spirits of the elements accept you. You don't use the spirits of the elements to control them. You don't have to swim through rapids to hydrokinesis. To be able to use an element, you need to connect with it. I have spent long periods of time sitting outside and getting to know the wind. The feel of it, the scent it carries, the sound it makes, everything. That is what you need to to. Feel the heat of the fire(don't burn yourself though.), hear the trickling of the water, catch the scent of the earth. No spirits, angels, or kings of elements. There are no initiations, just simple things that you can do in your spare time, and there are no latin chants that you have to do.
There are numerous websites and countless people who are well-practiced in these areas. The way I have done it is I let my energy out (like energy manipulation), and mixed it and let my senses free. I remembered everything about the wind and mimicked it. (I also have done telekinesis and that is much different and on a side note you don't have to walk through rain and remain bone-dry to be a hydrokinetic master. doubt that is even possible if you were one. That sounds more like telekinesis to me, but that it my opinion). If you want to learn ask around and go search for websites, though take everything you read with a grain of salt. There is a lot of BS out there. It is up to you to decide what works and what doesn't.
Heani, I do agree with you. Humans always want more power and complete power of everything (I am no exception, I am human, though I do hope that I am not as bad as some are). There is no way, though, to have ultimate control over elements. You can never completely control every single aspect of anything. I am not saying that you cannot be strong, you just have to accept that you won't be the all powerful master of fire. Just become as strong as possible through practice and determination.
Brysing just because someone is bad at spelling or grammar, does not mean that they cannot teach us everything. They can be very knowledgable at many things. That does not mean that they are perfect at everything.
I am sorry if there are spelling and grammar errors that I didn't catch. After all, as I said before: I am only human.
I am also sorry if I have offended anyone. I just felt like I had to say something. If your opinions differentiate that is fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion this just happens to be mine

I was meaning "all" these long and complicated "teaching posts". Not just the one above. The question I would ask is "Why do you want to teach?". Is it to show off your knowledge (which quite often doesn't amount to much.) or is it that you wish to influence people with your own views? What I try to do on this site is to point members in the direction of real magic, and away from fantasy. (Werewolves?) I would not dream of teaching magic to anybody! One cannot learn magic by reading what somebody else has written. One has to be shown; personally.
And we should always remember the old adage:- Those who can, do; those who cannot, teach!
Dyriaex, I never said that it was mastering them. One of the posts that I responded to said that elements cannot be controlled at all and I said you can learn to manipulate them. I specifically said that you can learn to control them but you never completely master anything.
As for the me saying that I could influence a breeze, first of all it is completely true, and second of all how does that relate in any way to jumping into a volcano. Calling a breeze is much different then becoming fire retardant. I also said that stuff like that is pretty much impossible in my last post (if this wasn't directed at me then I'm sorry, but it seemed like it was seeing as how that is exactly what I said in my post). What do you consider controlling elements if you say that calling a small breeze is the equivalent of jumping in lava?
Brysing, sorry I was just in a ranting mood earlier. I agree with you that you cannot just read a random post and be good at something. The post are there just to give us some base knowledge for actually learning. At least that is what I hope mine are doing. Sorry again.
Wise words Brysing, however, there are some who can both teach and do. For instance, when I was first learning to play the violin, I had an instructor who was in the symphony.
In this case, I think perrych (I'm not certain I spelled that right) is trying to share his personal beliefs with us. Why? Who knows. The human brain can sometimes come up with the longest and most complicated reasons.
As for actually doing these things, I would pay money to see someone walk through a thunderstorm and not get wet. Firewalking, believe it or not actually has to do with the shape of the human foot, so I wouldn't trust a spirit who may or may not exist to keep me safe. Try belly crawling across a bed of coals. I would bet on you getting burned.
That's your way of working with the elements. This is mine. Incase you haven't noticed, there are many ways of doing things. I've done firewalking quite a few times. To be honest with you, I feel you guys havnt even read my whole post.
I still have a small fear of heights, but am working toward better mastery, of both myself and the elements to conquer this.. ill keep you posted on that walking through rain deal, ;)
