I'm a total newbie to this and have been learning as much as possible about Christian Wicca because I grew up Catholic, but recently I have felt that there is another 'calling' for me, spiritually and I have found it in Wicca. I've noticed in this forum that some people have answered that they honor Lucifer or other evil deities. I thought that Wiccan's don't believe in Hell so how is it that Lucifer, or other deities, are a part of the Wicca religion?
I have very mixed feelings about honoring God, as the highest power, while honoring other deities, God, or Goddess. How do you know when you have chosen the right God, Goddess, or deity? Also, this may be a stupid question, but can you honor the Christian God and also honor another God at the same time? If so, he Bible says that you can't 'honor' any other God than the Christian God, so would that be a sin? Do Christian Wiccans' believe in sin and if so, how do they repent if they don't believe in going to Hell for their sins?
Sorry for so many questions...I just have so many questions as I want to be committed to my religion and grow spiritually with the correct information. Thank you for any responses.
Well "Ganapati" is My Patron God and "Sitatapatra Bhagavati" is My Matron Goddess but I respected Shiva,Brahma,Vishnu,Buddha,Tara,Padmasambhava,Vajrasattva,Devi(Lakshmi,Parvati and Sarasvati), Thor, Loki, Athena, Mithras, Angels and Jesus. Well "Ganapati" is always helping me with every obstacle in my life while "Sitatapatra Bhagavati" always provide invulnerable protection in my life ups and downs..
Worship- is like kissing the grounds they walk on, relying your life upon them (or him/her).
Honor- pay the respect to your goddess or god. Showing them that you are devoted to them. Thanking them for helping you when you need it.
(that is my definition of those words)
So I would most likely "Honor"...I honor the god(s), sense I don't have a simple "one" I honor all the gods and goddesses, for their jobs that they accomplish so accurate.
Okay, im gonna try and be of help here.
Most wiccans dont believe in hell, i dont personally. Yet i believe in Jesus and he is one of 'my Gods'. I feel closest to Aphrodite, and i dont see as honouring her i am sinning. I believe, like allot of wiccans, that we worship different aspects of the same God and Goddess under different names. I think that God has made mistakes, and is kind, that he wont condemn because he loves us. I think that we celebrate and worship the same God under the name Zeus, Pan, God etc. I know the struggle as i was once a christiam but have turned to wicca. For me i pray to the Mother Mary and Aphrodite believing they are the same. If it feels right to you go with it, and try different things, for me it took a little while for me to feel totally comfortable Aphrodite.
I believe, like many wiccans, in summerland, which is what Christians call summerland. I think that they are one and the same.we may not believe in hell, but many people believe in chaos, in which everything came from, the bad and the good. Sort ofnlike the big bang i suppose.
I hope that this is some help to you, and that you find your feet in whatever path that you find.
Please feel free to ask me anything, ill try to help as much as i can.
Blessed be.
Sorry that was directed @toaestreastar, i mean no disrespect to anyone, and all the information i have stated is what i have found out from books and the internet. I mean no disrespect to anyone.
Thank you :)
Well I never worshipped any gods but when I call among them for the more powerful spells I typically call among the gods of land see and air (just that no specific ones)
You dont go to hell for sinning. Jesus died for our sins already. Once you know you have sinned, then you must ask gods forgiveness through jesus, and try not to do it again. If you worship many dieties, or honor, however you prefer, and you do not beleive that is a sin, then you should honor the ways of said deities while you are worshipping or honoring that diety.
