A question for you all..

How does everyone feel here about the capability of something to be an object of power? Do you feel that it has to be something traditional in order to be used in witchcraft in some way, or do you believe that anything can be used?

I believe that anything can be charged and used with witchcraft, even some things others would deem as silly. For me, it's because I think we are the ones who give them power: the objects may have their own properties, but in the end we are the ones who charge them and give them purpose.

Just wondering what everyone else thought about this.

I use anything near me no matter how silly and stupid..

I agree that anything can be used as a magical tool. I have to admit that I have used a wooden spoon as a wand before in a pinch.

Anything can hold majik. I have used many things that one might concider silly. As long as you have intent and put the power in it no reason it can't be used.

In what circumstances would a object be used? Is it maybe possible to send and 'store' negative energy of yourself (e.g. sadness) into, say, a type of gemstone?

Yes you can charge a stone with extra energy. You can use many different types of things to absorb unwanted energy. If you have a lot of sadness try giving it up to a weeping willow.

Anything from my many readings. I uses toys instead of sharp edge knifes. I just pick something I like and could be comfortable with.
