OK...so i'm learning tarot, and i have some questions...
1.The total number of tarot cards in one deck,
2.The meaning of Wands, Swords, Disks and cups,
3.Recomemnded spread for a beginner,
4.Meaning of princes, princesses, queens and knights,
5.Meaning of inverted cards,
6.And the meaning of cards that fall out while shuffling...
If you have any sites that i could get some helpful tips off, i would be more then grateful
thank you and blessed be!
Hi Brim. May I suggest, two things. One is there are many videos on you tube that explain the meaning of the cards. and also I believe its called "the pleasure of the tarot" site, will send you a free lesson a week. For I think 6 weeks. I thinkk the basic three card spead is easiest for beginners, first card/past,2nd/present and last future. also having a card a day is helpful.
10 0f wands ,overburdened feeling.excessive pressures, problems soon to be resolved, effort to meet a goal possibly using power for selfish ends
queen of swords.sharp,quick-witted, keen person ,perceptive, subtle person, may signify a widow of sadness. seperation, loneliness. separation
ace of coins /disks. riches, bliss, ecstasy, prosperity, felicity, gold .valueable coins or articals, treasures combination of material and spirtual prosperity.
nine of cups. success, material attainment, advantage, victory, stability, good health, wishes forfilled,well-being, difficulties surmounted , abundance.
princess/ high priestess. wisdom, sound judgement, serene knowledge, common sense, penetration, education, hidden emotion, practical person, analytical, frequently too restrained.
knight of swords.bravery, capacity, the strength and dash of a young man, heroic action, impetuous, rush into the unknown without fear. a master in the art of action and welfare.
the best spread for a beginner is the three card spread, past, present ,future,
not too sure on cards that fall out while shuffle
inverted is opposite to right way meaning i think ,i have a tarrot book somewere i will dig up .
hope this helps brim it may depend on your choosen deck on meanings thou .
A good book to get is The Tarot: A Key to the Wisdom of the Ages by Paul Foster Case this will explain a lot about the Tarot
There are 72 cards in the tarot 22 the cards are considered the Major Arcana,
The different aspects of the cards wands = fire, cups= water, coins = earth and swords = air corresponding to the elements also remember that the colors that are used in the cards also relate to the elements.
As you gt deeper into the study of the tarot you will find that there are Hebrew letters that are connected to the cards and then these letters are associated to the Tree of life , so it is a on going process.
is there a different amount of cards in certain decks then phoenix68k ? mine is a begginers deck with the meanings printed on them and theres 78
thanks blessed be sue
