Merry Meeting! I was just really curious and wanted to share something. A few months ago I had a strange dream and Id like to share it. Could you tell me your thoughts about this?
So, I was sitting in a grassy field. It was midnight and there was a full moon. There were a few trees and in each tree there were glowing arrows. A very pretty dark haired woman approached me. I could sense a positive and calming aura coming from her. I looked up at her and in a soothing voice she told me her name was Diana
At the time I didnt know anyone named Diana and at that time I was just introduced to Wicca. When I asked who she was I could see her lips move but no words came out. The same dream occurred two more time but on one occasion there was a cat by my side. Im very fond of cats and I own a few so dreaming about cats is normal to me. I kept ignoring these strange dreams and eventually they stopped, until two weeks ago. I tried to find my God or Goddess by meditating.
The name Diana popped into my head in blue script, this happened for a few more days and then the dreams started again. I just found out who Diana is today. A member on this site told me Diana is a Celtic Moon Goddess and after some research I learned that she is associated with cats, the moon, and archery.
Is this normal for Wiccans?

It's normal for anyone involved in magickal practice.
It seems pretty crystal clear to me. Your goddess is Diana! Lol Its nice that you found out so easily, most take years to discover the deity they closely relate to or have a relationship with.
Thank you so much! Also, does the cat have to do with being my familiar or is it just because cats are associated with Diana? If this helps, the cat in my dream looks a lot like my cat, Zero.

Cats are between the worlds. They tend to be able to see and sense the spiritual naturally and this has been observed since ancient Egyptian times.
Deities like to contact us or give us signs through the animals they most closely relate to. So the dream could be signifying that your cat and Diana have a connection. Pay attention to signs in your cat's behavior. He/she could be acting as a messenger of sorts for the deity. It would make sense to chose your cat because it is around you all the time. This could also explain why the cat was right by your side. Since the beginning of magick, people have associated animals with messengers for the spiritual world.
Familiars are "friends". Some guard, some guide, some help out, and others are just close companions. If you feel your cat is a familiar of yours, then you should work on being able to understand him/her. Gesture/behavior is the most effective form of communication. Even in humans, two people can speak different languages and still be capable of communicating through action and expression.
Animals have one major quality over us as humans. They live in the present. They don't wonder what tomorrow will bring or dwell on what happened yesturday. Time is not an essential thing to them, habit is however. But this ability to live in the present and having no true concept of time allows them to take life one stride at a time. Especially when it comes to the pampered house cat! This no worry lifestyle is very similar to that of monks and others who dedicate themselves to the spiritual side of life! They are far more open to experiencing the spiritual because they are not consumed by the physical goings on and cluttered or chaotic thoughts of the average modern human.
My Goddess is Diana too. She helps me with whatever spells I need to do. She is a very powerful Goddess. Hey are you Celtic? Because I am. I am just curious.
