question for spell

do all binding type spells need a thread or ribbon to be done?

a binding spell forcing two things together, so some type of ribbon should be used. the binding spells and/or rituals i've come across all call for ribbon, so i'll say yes. which to use, personal preference i suppose, it doesn't matter too much, normally it'll call for a certain colour though, which you should follow, but the item, i would go with ribbon, but i don't think it matters really.
