born to magic?

I was reading some posts, and I started ton see a pattern. Do u have to be born yo magic in order to practice it? I'm just really confused

You don't have to be born into magic to practice it practicing magic makes you good at it just like anything else

Magick is universal, it's only energy weilded by us...so no you don't have to be born into magick to practice.

nope, being born into magic just makes you better then the other louses out there, but not needed to be born in.

some feel you're not a real witch unless you were born one, but Scott Cunningham made an excellent point about the old rule only witches can create/initiate other witches "if you need a witch to initiate you. Who initiated the first Witch?" so no, you don't need to be a blood descendent to practice. some type of abilities can be passed down through a bloodline, but it doesn't mean you can't learn or do it. as long as you understand magick, and have mastered the basics like energy work, grounding, meditating, visualization and so forth, then you can practice magick. keep in mind though, it doesn't mean all spells will always work, there are various reasons why one could and do fail. similar to the above mentioned genetic abilities, sometimes people are unable to do things as well. [like art or cooking.] you might be amazing with healing, but lousy at wealth spells.

What does being born into magic even mean??

basically means your parents or grandparents, or random relative was a witch, therefore you have magick in your blood.

if you are a female and you were born with it, its been said that female are born with third nipples if they were a witch naturally but if your someone who isn't then the only thing that spells do work is because of how much believe you put into it if you put heaps in then you will get outstanding results believe me dear it works

You don't need to be born into magick, but some people work closely with their ancestors and have gifts already because of their bloodline. It doesn't mean they're the only ones that can practice, and people like that don't always have gifts or anything special, so don't worry about hereditary witchcraft.
