My guess is that you take oil and say a blessing over it.

well holy water is made like this i think its by silver raven wolf (im not too sure)

Formula for Holy Water
1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
3 tablespoons sea salt or kosher salt
1 small crystal or glass bowl of spring water
1 clean glass container
1 new compact mirror
storage container/s

Cleanse and sterilize the glass bowl and container with boiling water. Perform this spell at midnight during a full moon phase. Go out of doors under the moon or near a window that will reflect the light of the full moon. Set out a work cloth and all of the ingredients you plan to use upon it. Take 5 deep breaths and relieve the stress of the day. Cast the magic circle and hold your arms outstretched at the altar, facing east in the goddess position (feet apart, arms open above your head) and say:

In the cloak of midnight hour
I call upon the ancient power
I seek the presence of the Lady and Lord
To bless this water that I will pour.

Feel the energies of the Mother and Father move about your head and feet. Feel your own energy, beginning in your navel unite with them.

Add the rose to the spring water and pick up the bowl. Hold it under the light of the moon and say:

In my hands, I hold the essence of the Gods,
I hereby cleanse and consecrate this water to Divinity
That it may be used for positive acts only
And may aid me in my magical work.

Imagine the energy of the Moon Goddess empowering the water. Set it down and pick up the salt. Feel the power moving in your arms as you raise the salt to the moon. Say:

In my hands I hold the essence of Earth Mother,
She whose bounty sustains all living creatures.
I hereby consecrate this salt to divinity,
That it be used for positive acts only
And may aid me in my magical work.

As with the water, imagine the energy of the Moon Goddess empowering the salt. Set the salt down and pour a little into the bowl of water and stir clockwise three times. Repeat this process twice more.

With the bowl in your left hand (your receiving hand) and the mirror in your right (your sending hand), reflect the light of the moon off the mirror and into the bowl. After a few moments, say:

This liquid is now pure
And dedicated to the Lord and Lady.
It is free from all negativity
In any time and any space.

Set the bowl and the mirror down and hold both your hands palms down over, but not touching, the bowl, about one inch above the water. Let your vibrations come alive. Open your third eye and imagine a glowing purple light emanating from it. Form an open triangle with your hands over the water and project the light into it. In your mind, see the water change colors and glow. Feel the power and energy flow from your head down through your arms and up from your feet simultaneously. When you feel the energy begin to dissipate, slowly lower your hands and say:

As I will
So mote it be
With the free will of all
And harm to none
This formula is done!

-this spell by Silver RavenWolf

If you would like a simpler method to making holy water, follow the ingredients list above. Combine the ingredients in a crystal or glass bowl. Set a mirror to reflect the light of the full moon into the bowl. Say:

Silver light
Of full moon bright,
Silent power
Of the witching hour,
Down come thee
As be my wish;
Fill the water of this dish.

You may leave the water under the moonlight all night as you sleep. When you wake, make sure to bottle the water in an airtight container, preferably of glass.

you guys are confusing blessing your oil with Holy Alter oil aka Abramelin oil as the oil used in the bible

Google "Holy anointing oil"
The holy anointing oil (Hebrew: shemen ha-mishchah, "oil of anointing") formed an integral part of the ordination of the priesthood and the High Priest as well as in the consecration of the articles of the Tabernacle (Exodus 30:26) and subsequent temples in Jerusalem. The primary purpose of anointing with the holy anointing oil was to cause the anointed persons or objects to become qodesh, or "most holy" (Exodus 30:2)

Originally, the oil was used exclusively for the priests and the Tabernacle articles but was later extended to include prophets and kings (I Samuel 10:1). It was forbidden to be used on an outsider (Exodus 30:33) or to be used on the body of any common persons (Ex. 30:32a) and the Israelites were forbidden to duplicate any like it for themselves (Ex. 30:32b).

Christianity has continued the practice of using holy anointing oil as a devotional practice, as well as in various liturgies. [1]

The holy anointing oil described in Exodus 30:22-25 was created from: [2] [3]

-Pure myrrh ( mar deror) 500 shekels (about 6 kg)
-Sweet cinnamon ( kinnemon besem) 250 shekels (about 3 kg)
-Kaneh bosem (- kaneh bosm) 250 shekels (about 3 kg)
-Cassia ( kiddah) 500 shekels (about 6 kg)
-Olive oil ( shemen sayith) one hin (about 5 quarts according to Adam Clarke; about 4 liters according to Shiurei Torah, 7 liters according to the Chazon Ish)

FatLip,

They aren't confusing anything. There is more than one sort of holy oil out there, it is not the sole provenance of the Judeo-Christian practices. Those of us who are Pagans also create holy oil using our own faith based practices that have nothing to do with Judaism or Christianity.

However, in terms of how such a thing is made in the Abrahamic Traditions, your information is correct.

I understand what your saying but its good to mention both sides of the spectrum here since the idea came from the TORAH.

For example: Jewish Bible (Torah and Tenakh) says kosher meet is meet a bible person can eat, but if you take what Muslims call HALLAL (aka kosher) which is supposed to be the exact same dietary laws of the torah you will find they corrupted them by including a prayer on the meat and its understandable why anyone would ask why so many Christians think the same way about kosher meat and altar rituals if they read the same books well THEY DONT, the christians books have been re arranged re translated in such ways that the KJ version is the closest latin version translated version leaving readers who do not speak hebrew to re interpret laws on their own base don this bible which in fact contradicts the purpose of the rituels,

whats interesting is i yet to see anyone asking if Wicca has root sin the jewish israeli tradition or vice versa, sabbats, cauldrons, wine cups, knife and candle light rituals all look very familiar to any jewish home., not to mention mezuzas with amulets on every door but the toilet.

No, Wicca's roots are not in Jewish tradition. However, early Wicca drew heavily on Ceremonal Magic and that is where the tools that are used by Wiccans are derived. The idea of the Witch's Sabbat comes from Medieval writings during the persecutions of Witches in Europe. It is not the same as the Jewish Shabbat other than that it was thought of as a religious holy day.

I never said Wicca was actually rooted in Judaism, i will say that Judaism has its roots i Babylon which is far beyond the times of the Wiccan world, then again it does not matter what rituals jews observe as long as they are attributed to the G-d of Israel and in line with the laws and precepts,

So its like as if one cult in Babylon was the chosen, who knows maybe wiccans could of been chosen and they where asked to worship that deity to prove its thee living creator by superseding these people through out the ages.

Judaism has some very cool mystics, occult students and more rituals and festivals then i see in a wiccan calendar but like christianity, islam, Buddhism and several other beliefs its turned into a religion with a central authority and when you have this outsiders are threats, i cant see why some attack those who express their free will but anyone of these religions have many people that actually do.

Well i still learning so..... :)

good to read anything you share

I come from the same background as you, whether we like it or not we are in the same covenant sis, to leave requires a ritual bath (mikvah) and to stand before a beit din (rabbinical court), you also qualify for benefits like ulpan (hebrew) courses as well as courses to rituals, mystic schools with secrets shared from way back in ancient Babylon., your not considered a magi but a priestess according to law., dont matter if its wicca as long as you put the G-d of the torah before other gods., then all will work, said to be a ETERNAL promise according to the divine decree.(torah)

I dont know what other kind of recipe you are referring to but according to (wikipedia) it was a part of the ordination of the priesthood and the High Priest as well as in the consecration of the articles of the Tabernacle (Exodus 30:26) and subsequent temples in Jerusalem.

Originally, the oil was used exclusively for the priests and the Tabernacle articles but was later extended to include prophets and kings (I Samuel 10:1). It was forbidden to be used on an outsider (Exodus 30:33) or to be used on the -->body
