But would it be easier to reatain the original powered faster after a long break? Like your skills kinda rusted but you polished them back. Or would you have to completely restart?

Personally no. The energy used in spells is universal, you might be rusty at casting, but the ability/energy doesn't go away. Spells should be cast when you need them, not for practice, boredom or as an experiment. If you are worried, practice making psi balls so you are use to the energy. Also regular charging/grounding/centering is a good idea.

Magick isn't like what you see on television, you don't "lose" your magick by not participating in "magick", otherwise, a lot of people wouldn't be able to use it. Magick, is merely energy, it's universal, the ability to use it is in everyone, but a lot of people avoid their "abilities".
