Today couldn't fit the last word in the headline
It's still around, many people follow the magical path
It's a shame How Wicca seems to over shadow witchcraft today
And the public mix the two up.
One is a tradition of Magick as a craft
The other is a new age Religion that has little to do with actual Magick but has great values and gives meanings to peoples lives
But not the same at all
Calling a Wiccan a witch
Is the same as calling Hoodoo

I am seeing that this post is a bit of a complaint.
Yes, Wicca (Neo Wicca specifically) has caused issues in a lot of paths (In this case Traditional Witchcraft, or the Nameless Art) but at the same time, Wicca has helped much in the way of Magic. Whilst a lot of the information has been taken and rewritten from the Traditional Witches, the Golden Dawn etc it has opened magic up to being more accepted to the public (Even though it still causes some issues)
The public Mix it up because there is more information avaliable publically for Wicca than Traditional Witchcraft. And you can't really blame them, they don't have to learn the difference, you just tell them briefly the difference when they comment, or just take the fact they know what Wicca is as a bit of a compliment (I do, whilst it is hugely wrong, I don't particularly want to explain the intricate ideas of the Nameless Art to them, explain to them about the Devil etc) there is no point.
Both of them are valid Magical Traditions, one is older than the other, but Wicca and the Nameless Art do fall under the umbrella of Witchcraft. Got to get used to that, eventually yes maybe Trad Withccraft will be blotted out, but then again, we don't need everyone to agree with us or know about us, sometimes its better to just keep it to yourself.

Ahh
Magick is Magick
No matter what path
We should all stick together
Outsiders don't understand Magick
All paths lead to the same basic
Idea if tapping into an unknown power
The witches cone of power
The astral light of Levi
Etc,etc, etc,Paul Huson called it animal magnetism.
The subject of traditional witchcraft has been discussed here previously, once by myself, and it always met with contention. My opinion on the matter is that all that needs to be said has been said regarding these tense issues.
Another complaint thread is unnecessary, I wouldn't mind seeing some discussions on aspects of traditional craft myself, I feel that could be useful discussion instead of causing useless arguments which will fall on wilfully deaf ears.
Education is so much more positive and helpful than pointing out flaws outrightly, people like to think they came to their own conclusions rather than accept the conclusions of others.

I agree with the post above.
But it's also not right for people who don't agree with Wicca being a Magick tradition of Any value to not have the right to their opinion But being that this is a board full of Wiccans
It's best to co exist and keep personal feelings about different systems, traditions and Religions to ourselves..Live and Let live
But things can be debated ad adults without cheap shots.
