Making Spells

So I am new to spell casting. This site has been very helpful for learning more about magic, but I did find a spell on here I have a question about. I actually cannot find the spell again...apologies, I didn't save it. But it was a spell in order to create other spells.

If you write a spell and believe in it working, is it necessary to use another existing spell to grant the new spell the power to work?

They say the best spells are the ones you write yourself. So if you write a spell and believe it will work, there's no need to have the other spell out there for you to use :) I'm a strong believer in improvisation. If it feels right, do it!

Actually, if you concentrate your energy and belief to a spell (or actually anything) it becomes special for you. And if it is special to you, it begins to be real, and end up working. So, simply trust on it with all your heart and feel it in you, and your spell (or amulet, or charm, or as said, anything) will work for anyone!

Thank you all. I was surprised to see a spell for making spells... what you've all said makes more sense to me. (I just wish it notified me when there were new replies.) No plans on making any yet but wanted to be clear for future reference. Thanks again!

Belief is all you truly need in making a spell work. It can be as simple (just an affirmation) as you want or as elaborate (Full-on ritual with candles, incense) as you want. It's entirely up to you. The power to make magick happen doesn't derive itself from another spell, but from you. Are there things one could channel? Yes, but I wouldn't suggest that for a beginner. No. However, directing some elemental and personal energies into it would intensify pre-existing power.

By pre-existing power I mean belief empowerment.
