Callirius was a Celtic god , who in Britain was worshiped. From Colchester (County Essex ), former Camulodunum , an inscription has been preserved in his honor:

" DEO SILVANO CALLIRIO D CINTVSMVS AERARIVS VSLM "

"For God Silvanus Callirius, Decimus Cintusmus, coppersmith, fulfilled voluntarily and earned his vow."

In a poem about God Cernunnos Callirus is mentioned:

The name Callirius is with the Irish coll ( "Hazel") and the Welsh celli ( "Forest") in connection. The identification after interpretatio romana with the Roman god Silvanus also shows that it has acted in Callirus a god of trees and forests.
