Ground and centering

So I also found out ground and centering helps how do I do that is it the same as meditation?

You can ground/center yourself during a meditation by visualizing roots growing from your body into the Earth and forming a deep and intimate bond with it. Visualize giving and receiving with the Earth. What would the Earth feel like deep down under?
