Torn between two

Post # 1
I am currently finding myself and trying to learn and find the right path and I have stumpled upon a problem that I didn't realise was a problem until now. I have been recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and I am extremely sensitive to the world around me, and have mood regulation issues ( I have trouble with my feeling's and regulating them ) and tend to be a pretty logical thinker. However on the other hand I have meet with a medium and she told me that I belong on the green road, am very heart centered, and that I am a natural healer. These thing's tend to keep clashing at me right now as I find myself. When I was practing in my teens and didn't know what was going on with me I felt safe and comfortable, and now I am lost and confused. Both my mental health and that which I am hoping to make my spiritual believes seems to be clashing. I currently am getting help for the mental side of it, but I was curious as to wether or not there is anything that I can do for the spiritual side of it. Like is there some way to better understand it, is there something that I can use ( a tool that I already have ) to make thing's easier on both sides?
I am lost and am un-sure what I am supposed to do in order to feel at peace with both that which I can't help and that which I wish to be.....
Any suggestions are greatly appreictaed, and I hope that this made sense ...

Thank you

Congrats! Welcome to the club (;
I’m not exactly sure what you mean. I’ve been through a lot of similar things, and if you need help you can mail me at any time. Just know that having Aspergers isn’t a bad thing! It just means we have different strengths and weaknesses. Till then

Thank you and yeah I guess what I mean is pretty confusing, since I have a hard time explaining thing's..... I guess what I mean is that, it's hard thinking one way with the Autism and feeling another way spiritually ...

It is sounding to me like you are creating stress by focusing too much on expectations. Autism spectrum is a -huge- grey area of a variety of personality quirks. Personally I feel like it is so broad in definition that it has become the new ADD. ... Ie; if an individual has a few quirks and no label for them- must be autism!

The trick is in first understanding where you are on that spectrum. The challenges it presents may not be as bad as you anticipate. Besides, A big part of walking a spiritual path is in coming to understand yourself and using that insight to grow and learn. So regardless of the challenges you may be doagnosed with, they are unlikely to interrupt your spirituality because they become a part of your path.

Another thought is that being diagnosed with these challenges doesn't change how things are. These challenges have already been present even while you were following your path before. So why dhould it change or get in the way now, just because you have a label you can apply to what was already there?

If anything having a label for the issue can only help in making things better. It brings conscious awareness to your challenges. It gives you a starting point in understanding the condition, how it works, and the kinds of practices and exercises you can use to adapt yourself and improve.

Depending on the specific issues, and how severely they manifest, it can be difficult to overcome things entirely. But with a bit of Self-awareness you can find ways to be conscious of how and when you are being affected. This gives you incredible power by allowing you to engage in conscious choice and effort to work with or around your challenges.

I would highly sugget continuing to work both spiritually and also psychologically. Get involved with yourself. Engage in social support. Professional counselling. study the issue and also follow your path. In time you may find that there is far more overlap than you imagine. After all philosophy, psychology, religion, and other studies of the humanities are all deeply complimentary.

I honestly didn't think of it that way... It is true, that finding my strengths and weaknesses is a big part and a good starting place. Thank you very much for the different view on it :)
