what's the format for a grimoire?

If you are making your own, any format that you choose.

If memory serves me, a grimoire is an instruction manual. So, I would start with visualization, meditation, energy work and move to casting a circle, writing a spell, crafting a ritual and on to other various parts of the craft.

Personally, along with what NordStar has stated Irecommend keeping record of what you experience during your workings and any exercises that you do, that way you can look back and pinpoint any patterns that may not be visible to you when first starting out.

A grimoire is a very special book that is designed to suit your particular needs. There is no set structure, as everyone's needs are different. I am just in the beginning stages of putting mine together. I am using a temporary format that I can use for a while to make sure that everything is in the right order and that I haven't left anything out. Once I am sure it is perfect, I am going to create my own grimoire and put the info in its permanent home.
