Ghosts in cyber landscape

*Serious Question*
from my knowledge of ghosts and entities can attach themselves to the physical world and people. Can they (Spirits and entities) also manifest on the internet? I have searched for information on this matter and have found nothing. Has there been cases of people that died were active on their account after clearly passing? (Like a Redditor's account actively posting stuff six hours after death) If so, how easy is this for spirits and entities to accomplish? is it wide spread? In what capacity can they do this? Play games? break code? all answers and educated guesses are appreciated, thanks for reading!

From my understanding, spirits can attached themselves to people and places. If the home meant anything to them in life, than they will most likely be around. While spirts can communicate on the physical plane, by showing people signs that can't be explain.

They can't physical manifest themselves on the Internet. Like their body won't suddenly appear and start acting like the ghost on Ghost Busters. However, it is not uncommon for people who have recently lost loved ones and their phones start acting unusual. Like they get text messages from those people, or phone calls. This to me is normally the spirt trying to get their attention, saying that they are okay and safe where they are.

If it's reddit you might also be careful, people can hack into other people accounts. Or family members might be trying to see, what they did in life to understand what they were doing before the day they die.

We are made of energy and so when we die the body may be gone, but energy lives on. (Please note the following line is my own belief, it may be a different belief to everyone.)Spirits who interfere with electrical currents because they are energy. It is not uncommon for phone batteries to drain in quicker than normal. If loved one or a spirt is around.

I also have the idea that as spirit is a form of energy, and energy is what technology runs on, it is feasible that some entities would be able to manipulate some electronics in certain ways. But it would be more of an outside force acting on an object rather than something dwelling within it.

Likewise, the internet... or rather the variety of 'places' on the internet aren't actually 'there'. Rather they are collections of information that gets shuffled around and interpreted into interactive forms by your computer (phone, tablet, ... etc). For example, if you were to see the literal place the data for this forum page was kept on whatever server it dwelled, it would be a string of (basically microscopic) patterened magnetised dots that then get translated into a bunch of complex math and instructions to turn specific dots on your screen into colors. And to make some of those dots do things when you move other dots (like the mouse pointer) to the same place.

While spirit is a consciousness backed by energy, computer information is more like a mathematical formula backed by energy. So while spirit might act on and manipulate computer information, I don't think spirit could use it as a place to exist.
