Amethyst is a common crystal which strengthens the third eye chakra, which aids the development of intuitive abilities. As for strengthening a spell, there are many factors. Can you specifically explain what spells are you intending to cast?
Love spells are not easy to cast. Theymost likely only work if there is already some developed feelings from both sides, or a connection. If theres nothing available to work with, then it would not be possible to force someone to fall in love. Even if possible, forceful love is not real love, and will falter.
You cannot control weather. You cannot just make a raining day sunny, nor a snowstorm into clear skies. Its not possible. As for healing spells, they do take time, but not meant to replace a doctor. If you know someone who is sick and is currently getting treated, a spell may aid the healing process. This is just an example.
As for auras, understand the concept of Law of Attraction. A strong aura attracts positivity into ones life and repels negativity, like a shield.Be positive to being positivity into your life. Another thing is taking care of yourself. An aura is a reflection of your energy. It has mental, spiritual, and emotional components to it. Meditate to uncluttered the mind. Eat healthier and staying active. Cleanse your energy by burningsage or cedar (optional). Think positively, surround yourself with positive people (if possible), and learn to shield your energy from others.

To me adding to the potency of magic is a process of collecting together favorable conditions. It is like building momentum; add together many small influences into an overall force.
For example, casting a spell during a moon phase that is favorable to your goal adds to the process. Burning a particular incense or jerb associated with your goal also adds a bit of oomph. Doing some meditation and visualization adds still more. Calling on a deity or other being with governance related to your goals adds yet more. And so-on. Individually each influence might have a degree of effect, but added together it can be the spiritual equivalent of pressing against a mountain so hard all you need to do is cast a pebble to start the landslide.
In the end there is no single way to add potency to your magic which will make or break a spell. But there are many small factors you can add together.
As far as ways to strengthen psychic talents and energy working, What I have learned is all things begin within the self. Meditation, personal awareness, balancing and working with your energies and aura, and opening yourself to higher vibrations of energy all work together.
A few crystals have already been mentioned which help with focus and upliftment. Personally my own big three have been Kyanite (Blue Kyanite is a personal favorite), Moldavite (expensive but powerful. All about stimulating growth and magnifying energies) and herkimer doamonds (actually a form of quartz but act similar to moldavite).
There are -many- other useful stones out there though. I would suggest investing in a book called 'the crystal bible'. It is an alphabetized reference to crystals, where they come from, and their qualities and uses.
