Wand carving

Is having my name carved into my wand a good idea or a bad idea? I want to have some sort of identifier on it in case it gets lost but I don’t want to compromise its power with unnecessary symbols.

The design of a wand is completely up to you. If you are worried about carving your name into it you could make a sheath for your wand and put your name on that, or if making a sheath seems like too much work you could put a piece of tape on the wand and write on that.

I actually already have a sheath! It’s leather so I’ll have to paint my name on but that’s easy enough. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that already. Thank you so much!

Besides just painting, there are things like stamps and punches which will permanently indent the leather. I'm not saying you must, or even should, of course. But it is an available option.
