Herbal Lip Balm

I've had a bit of luck with herbal lip balms.

I thought I'd share here a little I've learned about making them.

Rosemary lip balm:

Items:

Rosemary leaf 2 to 3 ounces

Coffee filter

Mug

Coconut oil

Elastic band

Vanilla extract- for flavoring

Lip balm container- recycled container for lip balm or adequate sized lidded container

Place your rosemary leaf into your coffee filter. Place coconut oil into your mug. How much oil you use depends on how much you should need to fill your container. I like to eye mine out.

Close the coffee filter with a rubber non dyed elastic. Add your vanilla extract into the oil in your mug. Use enough to flavor. It is not recommended to use a whole bottle. Perhaps 4 to five small drops.

Place your filter holding your rosemary into your mug and oil. Microwave the mixture until it begins to boil. When it starts to boil remove it carefully. You may wish to use something such as a cloth or towel on the mug handle to remove it. Carefully pour the mixture into your lip balm container.

I have made a rosemary herbal intent lip balm myself and it has held up very well.

I will recommend trying to use it up quickly. Discard always if there is any growth.

I like to use the rosemary balm for the intent of attraction. It could as well be used with other intents appropriate to rosemary.

Thank you for sharing! Is there specific types that one could make for different reasons? Example: Extra moisturiser/smooth lips.

Yes if done properly. An example is that I had also made a peppermint variety for lips in winter weather to keep my lips from cracking.

As well it is recommended not to use anything dangerous. To stick to edible herbs and flowers.

A rose or lavender variety is relatively safe.

For a moisturizing balm, ingredients that others use in a recipie for a moisturizing type lip balm, should work.

Looking up lip balm recipies for inspiration is a great way to get a better idea of what can be used.
