Question About Spells

Using your own personal energy to power a spell and pushing as much into the working as you can is absolutely going to leave you drained and tired. It is no different than using up your personal energy to run a race or to do hard work. It is even possible to drain yourself until you feel sick if you aren't careful about what you are doing.

As Lark stated using your personal energy especially regarding larger workings can drain you quickly. Adapting and using energy from other sources can help reduce exhaustion experienced by relying exclusively on personal power.

Items which can add energy into workings include herbs, plants, stones, and metals.

Methods of outside power include,

Planetary bodies including the sun and moon.

Earth energy, raising energy from the earth, directing, and grounding it. Lark's post linked is amazing.

Working with deities or other spirits can help bring more energy into ritual work as well.

It depends on how much of your energy you put into it. Only use as much as you feel would work.
