Samhain preparations

Hi all,

Just wondering what you all do for samhain, looking forward to it, and not entirely sure how to practice, might do a ritual, im not sure.

I would recommend looking in Christian Wicca: The Trinitarian Tradition as it has some ideas for how to perform different sabbats in relation to Christianity. More often then not, trust your instincts. Samhain is a time to honor our ancestors and the dead. Dumb Dinners (where you leave places out for your deceased loved ones) is a popular Samhain tradition that seems to transcend religious orientation. Also, halloween parties to celebrate life with your friends in family isn't a bad idea either ;)

The important thing is to remember the reason for the season is the dead and our honoring of them.

I always try to stay outside as much as i can that day , be close to nature usually near the sea , ground myself and think or the people that aren't with me , praying for them to find the rest they need . for me it is a day to remember them and comunicate with them if they come forward , remember all the good times i had with them .

Outdoors will be my best bet, and honoring the ones who have passed, some direction for me now, thanks both.

i believe it is best to create your own spells , prayers or rituals for any holiday .

I spend time in prayer and then perform my own rituals. I’ve found over the years using others spells, rituals or traditions just don’t quite make it special. Doing your own research and really finding that perfect spell will be very beneficial. Best of luck to you.
