SilverFox, make friends with them. They wont hurt you. And they are fascinating creatures. They are fantastic mothers to their young. And who amongst us could weave a silken web like a spider can! If you have a hedge near you, go out just before dawn and see the magic of the thousands of spider webs, with a million jewels of dew drops glistening. And then tell me that you were not stunned by the wonderment and magic of spiders.

I don't mean to be the nay sayer here, but what type of mint are you speaking of? Do you realize that "mint" is an entire family of plants? In fact, just like the aster family, a sunflower, marigold, and mum is all an "aster" technically, but they're not the same medicinally. The mint family is huge and has thousands of varieties, many of which are in your kitchen cabinet as cooking herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary, and lavendar. They are all "mints". Mint is not the same as spearmint or peppermint. Just because food items in grocery stores may just mention their flavor as "mint" doesn't make it correct in the context of herbalism, which is, as a natural medicine, very specific!

Absolutely correct, It is the common spearmint that spiders will avoid. But again, a bunch will not really bother spiders, they will just avoid the mint!

And I love spiders too. It's great to associate with them in my magick practice to help my own embroidery and sewing projects. The only ones I kill are sac spiders because I'm sensitive to their venom and they multiply fast.
In Greek mythology, Athena was the greatest weaver and Arachne was her student. But Arachne made Athena very angry when she claimed she was a better weaver than even the gods themselves. So they had a weaving contest and even though Arache's tapestry was just as fine as Athena's it made fun of the gods. This angered Athena even more and so she turned her into an immortal spider, condemned to weave an empty tapestry forever. But oh how lovely those webs can be! It's always been a favorite story of mine. :)

Exactly Brysing, different mints are better with different things. And they're all bunched up in this article without any specific common or scientific names. Even peppermint uses can vary based on where they were grown. For instance one of the most aromatic areas for peppermint is France, which is why peppermint tea from France is all I buy! It will even steep cold in minutes because it is so strong.
Your absolutely correct, however I love mint cause it's a healer like you said, and it freshens Breath! Anyways good job. However I am scared of spiders. I have been for my whole life!
