Ok, some people say that it's like wicca, but some say it's anti-christan, or more like not believing in the christan ways. Others say it's just like, unreligious people, etc. It seems to revo;lve around religion... o.O
The term pagan is from the greek word paganus, it can mean rural, rustic, villager, country dweller, or of the country. Some have even said it means an unenlightened one.
Today it is used to decribe religions that are nature based. Though it's use will continue to be debated, many agree that all folk religions are pagan.
Pagan is an umbrella term covering many different paths that are involved in the nature religion and as kts points out that yes it was a term that ment basically hick someone who was not educated enough to believe what the church was trying to say.

I peronsally believed that Pagans are people who follow a faith/spirirtuality that practices authentic sorcery.
In the ancient times you had loads of forms of Paganism such as Celtic paganism, Egyptian Paganism, Norse Paganism, German Paganism (similair to Norse) Roman paganism, Greek Paganism, Russian Paganism. It was the Celts that spread their culture around Europe and North Africa, but it was only them who fully worshipped Nature, other forms of Paganism took aspects out of theirs to make Sun Gods and moon Gods out of their own but they mostly worshipped their Gods 'above the clouds' rather than nature, but still practiced sorcery.
The only way you will find out what a true pagan is if you either are one but just ask your true self through meditation you may or may not get a answer but being a pagan isnt evil its just a way of life forget what the monotheistic religions have to say about it they only want to channel negative energy into people find your sefl a answer as said ask your inner self and you shall know what it is.

Paganism was the first and most primal form of religion which came to be once man reached the point of awareness of soul and self, ancient ways consist of energy sacrafices to the universe and nature around you and in doing so you gain energy from them in turn...basic laws of attraction within a religion. In time energy sacrafices became actual sacrafices of flesh or crops to appease Gods.
